We want to give outsized people a sense of belonging by integrating them into normal society and providing them with realistic choices to help them achieve their fitness goals. Due to the lack of athletic apparel for plus-sized local athletes, we started bringing in such items. Now, Athena & Clyde also carries Philippine-made, affordable, supportive sportswear for outsized people.
Clydes are men weighing at least 170 lbs, while Athenas are women weighing at least 135 lbs, belonging to the 'Clydesdale‘ and 'Athena' categories in US races, respectively.
Whether you intend to lose weight or just maintain your fitness level, sporting the Relentless Clyde or Proud Athena shirt encourages big men and women to engage in healthy, active lifestyles. "Relentless" affirms the wearer's never-say-die attitude of persisting through physical limitations, hardship, and even ridicule. It's hard to find good stuff nowadays esp. those that carry uber friendly sizes (size 12-26! How cool is that?!) I wanted to share my 'discovery' to my other friends, so when Athena and Clyde put out their latest collection, I immediately ordered yoga pants and shirts for them. Even if Ms. Jemps was about to go into surgery at the hospital, she still managed to promptly reply to my inquiries. Talk about a professional and passionate entrepreneur ;) I paid and got what I ordered for my friends the day after agad :) Let me tell you, when I got them, I was sooo in love with the texture and fabric of the yoga pants that I decided to re-order again --- But this time, for me naman! :D I even threw in a couple of shirts, haha :)) I was so inggit that I just couldn't resist ordering again :P I can't wait to get my hands on my order :P I also can't wait to see my friends' reactions when I give them great comfortable stuff that actually fit them :) I'm now officially one of the many suki clients of Athena and Clyde!
